Total Airtool Services designs and supplies its own range of torque reaction arms. Assembly tools, air nutrunners, electric screwdrivers, impact wrenches, transmit a torque reaction force to the operator's hand and wrist with each fastening cycle. Over a shift, repeated exposure leads to fatigue, reduced accuracy and, in time, injury. A reaction arm, correctly specified and mounted, absorbs that force entirely and keeps the tool available at working height without the operator carrying it between cycles.
The Total arm range covers six configurations: linear bench-mounted arms for standard workstation use, articulated arms that fold and swivel in confined spaces, lightweight carbon fibre telescopic arms for moving assembly lines, and suspended slider arms that provide full X, Y and Z mobility for conveyor-line assembly. The Posi Control variant adds position encoding and sequencing, the tool does not operate unless the operator is in the correct position and tightening joints in the required order, providing error-proofing without additional software.
For applications outside the standard catalogue, double-spindle arms, variable pitch, four-spindle configurations or Cartesian three-axis arms, we design and supply bespoke solutions. Contact us with your tooling, torque range and workstation layout and we will specify the right arm for the job.
